Solie Law recommend that you contact us as soon as possible after you have decided to embark upon these transactions. We can then give you independent advice in connection with Surveys and Valuations, Mortgages, Deposits, Life Assurance, Estate Agents and a number of other features about which you need to know.
We shall explain to you in outline the steps which may be involved, from the initial stages of obtaining the title deeds and preparing a draft contract on your side, to completing the transaction on the date when you move into your new home.
Thereafter, of course, we shall deal with all the necessary stamping of the purchase deed, capital gains, registration of your title, seeking consent of the Secretary of State for Lands in the case of leasehold properties, dealing with the issue of a new Share Certificate where a Management Company is involved and generally ensuring that all the necessary procedures have been complied with on your behalf.
If after the transactions have been completed you need to take advice with regard to your obligations under any covenants which may affect the property, the buildings insurance, boundary rights and so on, we are available to assist you.
Investments in The Gambia
We provide preliminary investment advice for Clients who want to invest in or retire to The Gambia. Our advice centres on choices available to you and the tax and cultural issues arising when investing in a country with which you are not familiar.
We are not financial advisers. We will not recommend products or individual investments. Rather we will talk to you about the basic structure of your affairs.

We are not estate agents. We do, h wever, provide a property finding service for our Investment Clients. If you wish to take advantage of this service we will use our knowledge of the market place and our contacts to locate properties that meet your specification.
We will charge you for the work that we do. We charge a fee of 3% of the value of the property found, subject to a minimum.
Of course, you are not really paying us for the few letters and telephone calls it takes us to find your property.
You are paying for the hundreds of hours we spend each year researching the market and for our years experience and list of contacts.
